Who Were The Crests?

The Crests, who sang the 1959 smash hit, "Sixteen Candles" were an influential Doo-Wop band from New York.

While best remembered for "Sixteen Candles" the Crest were also influential in American Music history because of the extent of their racial integration.  One Member was and Italian American, therr members were African American, and one was from Puerto Rico.

Although the membership of the band changed over time and none of the original members remain, the Crests continue to record and play.
