Who Was Norman Greenbaum

Norman Greenbaum is an American musician from Massachusetts who is most famous for being the person who sang "Spirit in the Sky" generally considered to be one of the top ten songs of the 1970s.

Greenbaum also performed with Dr. West's Medicine Show and Junk band.  With them he had several minor hit's including 1968's "The Eggplant that Ate Chicago."

Greenbaum continued to record for several decades but never experienced anything like the success of "Spirit in the Sky."
